Get Into Construction

Our Onsite Construction Academy runs this monthly beginner’s course. 

If you are new to construction or have not worked in the sector in the previous 12 months, this course can offer training and funding for: 

• employability support,  
• agency registration,   
• industry insight talks from contractors,  
• a mandatory work experience placement on site,  
• help finding employment, and  
• full 5-point personal protective equipment (PPE). 

The course will help to prepare you for a sustainable career in the construction industry including certification with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).

• Manual Handling: Level 2  
• CSCS Card  

Length of the course 

This classroom-based part of the course lasts 5 days, running from Monday to Friday.  

This does not include CSCS testing, which you can complete in up to 6 weeks following the course.  

Mentors can help you with practice on a weekly basis as needed until you achieve at least 2 mock passes, allowing you to progress to full CSCS testing.  

All days are 9:30 am to 1:30pm.

This is a rolling course that takes place twice a month. We can help to organise a week that works best for you.
